"Outrageous!" I hear you say, "What a gross hoodwinking of us all!".
Well, I think I'm OK. Do you want to know why? Beacause I AM the only Dad at Kindermusik, and that perhaps takes more balls than playgroup, Mum's group, rhyme time and all the other kids groups out there.
Each Tuesday morning, I'm the Dad (the only Dad) that continues to turn up late with son in tow, with said son sometimes in shoes, sometimes not. You know, because Dad's are a little more relaxed in that regard. We sit down for the start, and then Van (the son) spends the next 45 mins chasing the other kids, climbing the stairs, making dinosaur sounds, running (when running isn't allowed in the room), and various other activities NOT related to music. You know, because that's what 2 year old boys do.
That said, Van loves Kindermusik, and I am sure he is picking up information even when he isn't paying attention (which is most of the time). It's even not that bad for me - I get to let Van run wild while I relax (a bit) for 45 mins, and because I'm the Dad that has the balls to turn up to a music and singing class, I still get a gold star. Everyone wins.
Kindermusik with Miss Honey is on Tuesday mornings at 9:30am at the Elanora Community Room on Galleon Way.
